Nas’ career in the rap game is storied and he’s sold tons of records. Now he finally has a Grammy Award.

The legendary rapper pulled down his very first Grammy Award during this year’s ceremony. Nas beat out the competition to win the Best Rap Album award for his 13th effort “King’s Disease.”

The project was boosted in a big way thanks to Hit-Boy’s production and appearances by Big Sean. Lil Durk, Anderson. Paak, and others. Nas worked very hard for this one, and his time is now.

25 years ago saw Nas receive his first Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1996 for “If I Ruled The World (Imagine That).” He had to wait two and a half decades to actually win, but it was quite a journey. This is actually Nas’ fifth Grammy nomination after “I Am…”, “Hip Hop Is Dead”, and “Life Is Good.”

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
