Vince McMahon tried to bring back the XFL in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic stopped their season only a few games in. Then The Rock and his business partners bought the league. A 2022 season was announced, but it is now on hold pending some big talks to join forces with the CFL.

The XFL Twitter account shocked fans today when they announced that the 2022 season is on hold. They are talking about collaborating with the Canadian Football League, and that could change the game completely.

The Canadian Football League (CFL) and XFL have entered into formal talks to identify potential opportunities for the leagues to collaborate, innovate, and grow the game of football.

The XFL 2022 Season is on hold pending the outcome of our conversations with the CFL.
