History was made by Cardi B, and most people didn’t even notice it. The TikTok friendly songstress landed two consecutive chart-toppers and it also landed her in music history.

Cardi B’s song “Up” debuted on Billboard’s Hot R&B at the #1 spot. That Feb 20 chart-topper saw the rapper etch her name in the record book.

“Up” was preceded by “WAP,” a huge song she dropped with Megan Thee Stallion. That song also debuted at the #1 spot. Those two songs cemented Cardi B in the history books as the first artist to post two straight #1 debuts on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart as the lead artist.

Cardi B joins Drake, who landed in that spot with “Work” and “Summer Sixteen,” two songs he featured on.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
