Sofia Vergara Slapped With $1.7 Million Lawsuit Over Home Improvements

Sofia Vergara made a name for herself in the highly acclaimed comedy series ‘Modern Family,’ but that doesn’t mean she is a one-trick pony. Unfortunately, she is now facing legal woes again.

According to TMZ, Sofia Vergara is currently embroiled in a legal dispute as a contractor alleges that she failed to pay over $1.7 million for extensive renovations carried out on her Beverly Hills mansion.

The lawsuit details the claims made by Reside Custom Homes (RCH), the contractor hired by Vergara in April 2022 to undertake construction work on her lavish $26 million residence.

According to the lawsuit, Vergara initially agreed to cover the costs of the construction work along with the contractor’s fee. However, RCH claimed that despite the completion of the project by December 2022, Vergara allegedly requested substantial additional work beyond the originally agreed scope. This additional work, including the installation of clay plaster in various areas of the mansion such as powder rooms, an office, dining room walls, the cabana bathroom, and the guest house living room, as well as the removal and replacement of a flight of stairs, extended the job until March 2023.

Sofia Vergara asked RCH to front the expenses for the extra work to ensure the completion of the improvements. The contractor claims that Vergara assured them she would settle the bill, stating that she had approved an invoice amounting to nearly $900,000 and had already given instructions to her money manager for payment.

However, RCH contends that despite these assurances, Sofia Vergara failed to follow through on her promises, leaving the company with an outstanding balance of an astronomical $1,700,492.64. Therefore, Vergara has to cough up the dough now or face the music. We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing legal dispute.
