Akon was one of the biggest names in music in the late 2000s. His chart-topping hits took the world by storm and were played in clubs across the world. Given his success, Akon is no stranger to controversy and it seems like he has found himself in another one.

Akon has had beef with record producer Suge Knight for quite some time now. The Death Row co-founder is now serving out his 28-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter. He launched his new podcast called Collect Call Podcast from prison in October and stirred up some controversy during its debut episode. During the show, Suge Knight went into detail about how Akon and his producer sexually assaulted a 13-year-old sister of one of his associates as well as her 12-year-old friend.

Soon after the episode aired, Akon took to social media to deny the allegations calling it a “lie”. The “Smack That” singer has since spoken to TMZ where he addressed the ‘outrageous, false, and disgusting claims’ made by Suge Knight on his podcast.

“I need to make it very clear that I absolutely deny these outrageous, false and disgusting claims Suge Knight made on his podcast about me,” he said. “I’ve never called, received, or had any contact with Suge Knight since he has been incarcerated. My voice you heard on his podcast was as a soundbite previously recorded from an interview I did with DJ Vlad three years ago regarding Suge Knight in 2009.”

The hitmaker went on to say that he has never been a guest on Suge Knight’s podcast and will be involving his legal team in filing a defamation lawsuit against the record producer.

“I’ve never been a guest on Suge Knight’s podcast. I always believe in building positivity into the world and my actions and legacy have spoken to that. It’s unfortunate that I have to defend myself from these lies and I will be involving my legal team in filing a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Knight, my prayers for him will still continue.”

It looks like this feud between Akon and Suge Knight is far from over given the recent turn of events.
