Fans of the popular 90s sketch comedy show “All That” and the hit movie “Good Burger” are in for a treat as longtime friends and actors Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have announced that they will be reuniting once again for more “Good Burger”!
The two comedic actors, who rose to fame together in the Nickelodeon series “Kenan & Kel” and later starred in “All That. During their appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night the dynamic duo dropped an exciting bombshell – they will be starring in an upcoming movie.
The film will see Thompson’s character, Dexter Reed, reunite with the original cashier Ed at the Good Burger fast food restaurant in present day, where they will work alongside a fresh-faced group of employees.
The sequel finds Dexter in a tough spot following yet another failed invention. Fortunately, Ed is happy to have his old friend back at Good Burger and gives him his former job back. As Dexter joins the new crew, he hatches a plan to turn his fortunes around. However, his scheme ends up putting the future of Good Burger in jeopardy once again.
“I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger! Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal! Love performing with my brother Kel and can’t wait to show the fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them.
Ed is one of those timeless characters that has brought so much joy and laughter to fans, and it’s such a beautiful blessing to still be doing it after all these years. It’s super awesome to come back and continue the stories of Dex, Ed and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching and their kids.”
Good Burger 2 is set to begin production in May and will premiere later this year on Paramount+. Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, the original writers and producers of the movie, as well as the Kenan & Kel series and All That, are returning to write the sequel and will also serve as executive producers. Phil Traill has been tapped to direct the highly anticipated movie.
For those unaware, Good Burger originated as a sketch featuring Kenan and Kel on the popular Nickelodeon sketch series All That in the 90s, before being adapted into a feature film.
