Disney+ recently released season one of Willow on its platform in January and it was well-received by the audiences. However, fans of the series will be disappointed to learn that the show won’t be back for another season.

Deadline reports that Willow was canceled just two months after the series launched the eight-episode series on the Disney+.

The original 1988 movie Willow is based on the story of a sorcerer of the same name who embarks on a journey to safeguard an infant fated to bring down a tyrannical queen. The fantasy series serves as a continuation of the original film as Willow teams up with a group of young heroes to save their world from monsters called the Gales.

The only positive takeaway from this news is that the story and characters could be revisited in the future, according to the outlet.
