Former President of the United States Donald Trump is a highly controversial figure and is known to do a lot of bizarre things from time to time. With that being said, Trump expressed his wish for a different color scheme and design for Air Force One a few years ago. However, Trump’s plans for a new design were recently scrapped in favor of President Joe Biden’s decision to stick with the traditional style.

According to the Air Force, Biden has chosen to stick with the original colors that have been in use since the 1960s. The OG colors were used when John F. Kennedy International Airport began using the jumbo jet and the blue/white pattern we are all familiar with today.

According to TMZ, the Air Force revealed that the new color design will be applied to POTUS’ primary aircraft However, as you can see in the photos, Biden has opted for a lighter shade of blue. But the Air Force’s explanation is quite sophisticated and they list the differences in this manner.

“The light blue on VC-25B is a slightly deeper, more modern tone than VC-25A’s robin’s egg blue. Additionally, the VC-25B engines will use the darker blue from the cockpit area vice the VC-25A’s robin’s egg blue.”

Besides that, they claim that the new AF1 aircraft, which is being built by Boeing, will not have any polished metal because current commercial skin alloys do not support it. The Air Force asserts that there are minor modifications that have made the new plane more effective and efficient.

The Air Force claims that Trump’s request for an entirely different color theme and design that resembled America’s national flag a few years ago was not feasible due to technical challenges and time constraints. However, the issue with Trump’s preference at the time is described in the following way by the Air Force.

“The Air Force previously displayed a red, white, and blue livery for the VC-25B because it had been publicly expressed as a preferred livery in 2019.

A thermal study later concluded the dark blue in the design would require additional Federal Aviation Administration qualification testing for several commercial components due to the added heat in certain environments.”

However, there are rumors that his request for “American” stripes would have taken too long to implement, so they sped up the process and improved what they already had. Whatever the reason is, it’s blue’s victory ultimately. Keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates.

Do you prefer the traditional blue and white or do you think Trump’s idea of an “American” flag-themed design would have been better? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
