Francis Ngannou was regarded as one of the best heavyweights in the UFC for a very long time. In March 2021, Ngannou finally defeated Stipe Miocic to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion cementing his legacy as a UFC GOAT. However, it seems some believe that Tyson Fury no longer wants to fight Ngannou after the latter’s UFC exit.

As previously reported, Francis Ngannou officially parted ways with the UFC. Right after that, Dana White claimed that Ngannou turned down a contract that would have made history in the UFC.

Last year, Tyson Fury successfully defended his WBC and The Ring Heavyweight titles against Dillian Whyte in a solid match. Afterwards, Francis Ngannou came out and they seemingly confirmed a huge superfight.

While speaking on his TimboSugarShow podcast, Sean O’Malley stated that he believes that Tyson Fury may have lost interest in the fight, particularly after Jon Jones secured a submission victory over Ciryl Gane to claim the vacant heavyweight championship.

“Tyson Fury’s not interested in Francis Ngannou anymore. He was interested in Francis when he was the UFC champ. He was the pound-for-pound the best baddest motherf****er in the world, now he’s not signed to the UFC, now it’s not as intriguing, who is Francis? Francis eventually gonna be like well, he hasn’t fought in two years,”

Sean O’Malley also suggested that ‘The Predator’s inactivity may have caused his stock to decline, potentially putting other opportunities at risk. O’Malley speculated that ‘The Predator’ may have overplayed his hand by pursuing a profitable boxing match, and consequently missed out on a chance to face ‘Bones’.

“I think he’s thinking he saw Conor [McGregor] do it but Conor did it with that UFC, he didn’t do it by himself. The more days go on, the less intrigued, the less care we have for Francis to go to boxing.”

In a recent post-fight interview, UFC President Dana White confirmed that Ngannou will never fight in the promotion again. We’ll have to see what will become of Francis Ngannou in the future.
