Zendaya has won numerous honors including two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. In 2022 she was listed in Time magazine’s yearly ranking of the 100 most influential individuals in the world. In June 2019 Zendaya debuted as Rue a 17-year-old drug addict and the series’ narrator in the HBO drama series Euphoria which is an adaptation of the Israeli series of the same name.

Zendaya has finalized a fresh contract with HBO in which she will be paid nearly $1 million per episode for the upcoming third season. Zendaya and her team recently contacted the network about adjusting her deal according to sources close to the situation. Zendaya felt she deserves more money for her role as Rue who helped make Euphoria one of HBO’s most-watched shows in its history.

According to Puck News, Zendaya “just closed a big re-negotiation on HBO’s Euphoria that likely puts her close to” other stars pulling in $1 million per episode. At the moment, the outlet said that other performers earning that much right now include Chris Pratt for The Terminal List, Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in 1923, and Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso.

Zendaya was promoted to executive producer in the second season earning her even more money. Euphoria debuted in June 2019 and became an instant hit solidifying Zendaya’s status as an A-lister and elevating the careers of her co-stars including Sydney Sweeney. Zendaya won the 74th Emmy Award for Featured Performer in a Drama Series last year. The actress who received the award the previous year became the youngest two-time recipient of the award.

I love you all so much.” Zendaya continued, “Thank you to the Academy, thank you to my friends and family, some of which are here tonight. Thank you to Sam [Levinson] for sharing Rue with me. Thank you for believing in me, even in moments where I didn’t believe in myself.”
