Michael B. Jordan is best known for his performances as Wallace a teenage drug dealer on the HBO drama series The Wire and Reggie Montgomery on the ABC soap opera All My Children. Jordan reprised his role of Creed in Creed II (2018) and again in Creed III (2023) which also represents his directorial début. During an interview on the red carpet for a screening of Creed III on Saturday Michael B. Jordan brought up a reporter’s prior remarks about him.

Jordan revealed that she once called him “corny” when the reporter noted that they went to school together. Lore’l, the host of Morning Hustle, downplayed her previous remarks. “We go way back, all the way back to Chad Science [Academy] in Newark,” she began.

“Oh yeah, I was the corny kid, right?” Jordan responded, referring to remarks she made on a podcast. Lore’l then insisted she was being “misquoted.” She went on to switch the topic and said that “No you did not hear me say that! I said we used to make fun of the name.”

“But yeah, he is obviously killing things out here.” She concluded: “Well, you’re not corny anymore.” Lore’l mentioned Jordan being a classmate on an episode of the Undressing Room podcast. Jordan’s friendship with Lori Harvey had been brought up by her and her co-hosts, Eva Marcille and Dominique da Diva. “You know what’s so crazy? I went to school with Michael B. Jordan at a point in life,” she said.

… And to be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan. And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark, that’s the hood. We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him!

Jordan and Harvey have since split up. Creed III is scheduled to hit theatres on March 3, 2023, and Jordan will direct the first film in the series. It also includes Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, and others. Also, it’s the first film in the franchise that doesn’t star Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa.
