‘Succession’ is one of the most well-liked television programs ever produced, with the show winning 4 Emmys at the 2022 Primetime Emmys including the award for Outstanding Drama Series. However, the much-anticipated new season of the program is scheduled to premiere on March 26, but unfortunately, this is the last season of the show.

According to the show’s creator and showrunner Jesse Armstrong, the show will end after its upcoming fourth season. Armstrong recently appeared in an interview with The New Yorker where he explained the decision. Armstrong also mentioned discussing the idea with the cast and writers before making a decision.

According to what he said in this interview, he appears to want the program to end on a high note. The series’ creator said, “There’s a promise in the title of ‘Succession,'” adding that he first stated that the fourth season is the final one in around November or December of 2021.

“I’ve never thought this could go on forever. The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From season 2, I’ve been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?”

In addition, he questioned the writing staff regarding the best format for the show, short seasons, a protracted and more fluid structure, or simply ending at its peak. Although the showrunner ultimately opted for the second choice, he still experiences conflicting feelings about it.

“definitively close off the possibility of that happening this season — at least until it got weird to not say ‘OK, I think this really is it.’”

The showrunner added that HBO was willing to consider additional seasons but trusted him to make the call. “So I do feel conflicted about that,” he continued.

“And I feel sad, and I have the-circus-has-left-town feeling that everyone gets who works on a production that’s good, and this one particularly so. I imagine I’ll be a little bit lonely, and wandering the streets of London in a funk, and wondering, ‘What the f**k did I do?’ I’ll probably be calling you up in about six months asking if people are ready for a reboot.”

“Succession” centers around the Roy family, who are the heirs and owners of a major media conglomerate, and delves into themes of affluence, authority, trauma, and family dynamics. Keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates.
