Kylie Jenner is one of the most adored online personalities, being the most followed female on Instagram. However, Jenner seemed to have moved down from her position now. Selena Gomez recently surpassed Kylie Jenner as Instagram’s most followed woman.

For the time being, Kylie Jenner’s position as the most followed female user on Instagram has ended. Selena Gomez, who had previously been the platform’s most followed female, surpassed Kendall Jenner in terms of followers, according to the celebrity news fan site PopFaction.

On 23rd February, by 10 a.m. EST, Jenner actually still had a little advantage, but as the day wore on, Gomez overtook her. Gomez had the lead with 380,644,778 followers as of 6:25 p.m. EST. In contrast, Jenner is not far behind with 380,425,729 followers.

Although Gomez has increased her Instagram activity recently. Selena revealed to Vanity Fair earlier this month that she only has TikTok on her phone. She stopped using Instagram years ago and now has her assistant update her page with new content. Gomez spoke about her personal decision to withdraw from the majority of social media networks.

“I never got the chance to go to an actual high school. The world was my high school for the longest time, and I started getting inundated with information that I didn’t want. I went through a hard time in a breakup and I didn’t want to see any of the [feedback]—not necessarily about the relationship, but the opinions of me versus [someone] else. There’d be thousands of really nice comments, but my mind goes straight to the mean one.”

“People can call me ugly or stupid and I’m like, Whatever. But these people get detailed. They write paragraphs that are so specific and mean. I would constantly be crying. I constantly had anxiety…I couldn’t do it anymore. It was a waste of my time.”

“The only thing I have on my phone is TikTok because I find it to be a little less hostile. There are wonderful things about social media—connecting with fans, seeing how happy and excited they are and their stories. But usually that’s filtered through [for me now]. I created a system. Everything I do I send to my assistant who posts them. As far as comments, my team will put together a few things that are encouraging.”

Selena went quite transparent about her personal life. However, Selena has currently surpassed Kylie Jenner on social media. Let’s wait and see whether Kylie responds to this in any way. What do you think about Selena? Let us know in the comments. Keep checking Thirsty for more updates.
