Madonna is set to embark on a huge 40th-anniversary tour later this year across Europe and North America which includes a date at London’s O2 Arena on October 14. Madonna’s 2003 MTV Video Music Awards performance in which she locked lips with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera is regarded as one of the most startling television moments of all time and it’s now being revealed that more female celebrities were in waiting to get Madonna’s iconic kiss but couldn’t make it to the award show. Pink recently disclosed that she along with other female performers was also approached to share the platform with the Queen of Pop.

During a radio interview on KTU 103.5 on Wednesday, the ‘Just Give Me a Reason’ singer revealed that the Queen of Pop had actually asked her and Gwen Stefani to be a part of the infamous 2003 spectacle. “I think we all were [invited],” Pink recalled. “I think Madonna wanted to kiss all of us.”

However, the ‘Never Gonna Not Dance Again’ singer does not appear to be regretful about declining the show. She stated that she was “in Costa Rica at the time” where she was “having all kinds of fun” with her then-boyfriend and now-husband, Carey Hart.

“It was going to be a party,” added the pop star, who’s been married to Hart since 2006, grinning slyly. “It would’ve been a really weird party.” The revelations come about a month after Jennifer Lopez revealed that she too had been contacted for Madge’s steamy performance.
