“Joker: Folie à Deux”  will see the return of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, aka Joker and fans are very excited for this sequel. That being said, it seems extras for the film are irate over the lack of bathroom breaks.

According to TMZ, workers at Warner Bros Studios in Burbank have expressed dissatisfaction with the working conditions during filming. They stated that they were required to work for over 2 hours straight without any breaks, and were not permitted to use the restroom or drink water during this time.

These conditions are unacceptable and raise concerns about the treatment of extras in the film industry. It is important for production companies to prioritize the health and well-being of all individuals involved in a project.

The bathroom-related issues are primarily arising during camera setup periods, which can last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. The extras on set reportedly fear asking for permission to use the restroom, as they have heard of instances where others have been scolded for doing so.

With the shoot scheduled for approximately 5 weeks, there is a significant amount of money and regular work at stake for extras during a traditionally slow period in Hollywood. This is why some may be reluctant to speak out about bathroom break issues.

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) received a complaint about a break time violation and conducted an investigation, speaking with production. The production company has been reported to be cooperative, and SAG will continue to follow up and monitor the set to ensure that all working conditions are in compliance with industry standards.
