Elon Musk, a visionary entrepreneur and one of the most influential figures in the world of business, has consistently courted controversy with his bold and sometimes controversial statements and actions. From lighting up on Joe Rogan’s podcast to making a billion-dollar bet on a social media platform, Musk never fails to capture the attention of the public and media alike, establishing himself as a leading voice in the ever-evolving landscape of modern business.
In a stunning move that sent shockwaves through the business world, Musk, last year, made a multi-billion dollar acquisition of the popular microblogging platform, Twitter. In true Musk fashion, the deal was not without its own set of controversies, as the tech magnate made swift changes to the company’s leadership, relieving the then-CEO and several key executives and staff members of their duties.
However, it appears that the shake-up at Twitter was far from over, as Musk’s recent actions have continued to send shockwaves through the company’s ranks.
According to a recent report by the technology news outlet The Platformer, Musk reportedly terminated a principal engineer at Twitter following a conversation about the decline in engagement on his tweets. The report states that Musk was seeking an explanation as to why he was only receiving “tens of thousands of impressions” despite having a substantial following of over 100 million users on the platform.
According to the report, the principal engineer at Twitter replied to Musk’s inquiry by stating that his popularity on the platform had waned in recent times, which accounted for the lower engagement on his tweets.
“You’re fired, you’re fired,” Elon reportedly replied.
This firing just proves that job security under Musk is almost obsolete as he is known for firing people who don’t agree with him. Stay tuned to Thirsty For News as we bring you similar stories.
