Takeoff tragically passed away at the age of 28 outside a bowling alley in Houston. At his funeral, Offset was clearly distressed about the passing of his friend and he delivered an emotional eulogy in which he claimed that Takeoff “changed the culture of music forever.” However, Offset recently defended his friendship with his late cousin and refuted J Prince’s claims that he wasn’t “there” for Takeoff before his passing.

J Prince appeared on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast more than three months after Takeoff’s unfortunate death and criticized Offset for not being “there” for him before he passed away. J Prince appeared to be referring to the fact that Offset and Takeoff’s fellow Migos member, Quavo, and his son Jas Prince, were both present at the bowling alley where Takeoff was murdered but Offset was with his wife Cardi B at his home.

“In reality, the truth of the matter is, you wasn’t really right there with Takeoff when he was alive. So, for you to be taking these positions that you taking, you know what I mean? I got people everywhere, so I hear all kinds of things.

Never put me in no position where I have to defend myself. That wouldn’t be healthy for you. I ain’t gonna throw rocks and hide my hand. I’m just gonna let it be known to him. Because I hear what’s being said. And it’s all love after that.”

J Prince’s remarks prompted Offset to respond to the entire Prince family on his Instagram Stories. “How dare one of y’all even speak on me and Take relationship. I don’t know you from a can of paint,” the rapper said.

“Y’all don’t know how me and my brother rock.”

J Prince came under fire for not “thinking” about Takeoff’s mother and the rest of his family. He also called out J Prince for playing “internet games” when he talked about his relationship with Takeoff in interviews.

Offset was quiet for two weeks before finally expressing his sorrow about Takeoff’s passing on November 16. In a statement posted to Instagram, he said that it “doesn’t feel real” to be talking about Takeoff in such a tragic situation. Keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates.
