D-Generation X is one of the most influential stables in the history of pro wrestling. The group defined the Ruthless Aggression Era and was partly responsible for WWE’s success over WCW in the Monday Night Wars.

Originally started by Shawn Michaels and Triple, D-Generation X would expand to include Chyna as well as The New Age Outlaws and X-Pac. The group also popularized the crotch chop gesture.

Fans who grew up on the Attitude Era may very well recall doing the DX gesture. In storyline, the group was anti-authority and their acts put WWE in trouble with the network on numerous occasions.

Now, NBA star Joel Embiid has found himself in trouble over the infamous crotch chop. The Philadelphia 76ers did the DX crotch chop last night during the game against the Brooklyn Nets.
