The Weeknd is one of the most popular acts in music at the moment. He is responsible for several chart toppers over the years. Many of his singles have gone on to achieve massive success making him one of the biggest musicians in the world.

One of his biggest hit songs is called “Blinding Lights” which was shared in 2019 as the second single to his fourth studio album “After Hours.” The song debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to top the charts for four weeks. It even became the first song to hold a top 10 spot on the charts for an entire year.

But that’s not all. On New Year’s Eve, the Canadian singer shared the news that Blinding Lights is now the most-streamed song of all time. He broke the news via Twitter.

He then followed it up with another tweet, “happy new years to blinding lights. the most streamed song of all time tonight,” wrote The Weeknd.

Blinding Lights surpassed Ed Sheeran’s “The Shape of You” by 918k filtered streams. Moreover, The Weeknd also ended 2022 as Spotify’s most streamed artist. His latest album which dropped earlier this year debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. Needless to say, 2022 has been an amazing year for The Weeknd.
