Madonna Says Her Controversial Book Paved The Way For Cardi B & Others

Madonna is widely regarded as an icon in pop music. Often called the Queen of Pop, Madonna has had a pretty successful music career. However, she recently talked about her 30-year-old controversial book and said that Miley Cyrus, Cardi B, and Kim Kardashian can publicly express their sexuality because of that book.

The pop star made the remark as she observed the 30th anniversary of the publication of her much-debated coffee table book S.E.X., which came out the day after her album Erotica. “30 years ago I published a book called S.E.X. In addition to photos of me naked there were photos of Men kissing Men, Woman kissing Woman and Me kissing everyone. I also wrote about my sexual fantasies and shared my point of view about sexuality in an ironic way,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

“I spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman. I was called a whore, a witch, a heretic and the devil.”

The release of the book and album came two years after the black-and-white Jean-Baptiste Mondino directed music video for “Justify My Love” which was also banned from airing on MTV.

Madonna continued,

“Now Cardi B can sing about her ‘WAP.’ Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked a– and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball. You’re welcome b——- …….”

The vulgar “WAP,” which stands for “wet a- p—-,” was released by Cardi and her friend Megan Thee Stallion back in August 2020, while Kim most recently exposed her bare derrière on the cover of Interview magazine. Notably, Miley released the music video for “Wrecking Ball” as a single from Bangerz back in 2013.

After posting the statement, the “Vogue” singer reposted a segment from an interview from 1992 in which she discussed the inspiration behind the book, including the controversial decision to publish nude pictures of herself and other people. Stay tuned to Thirsty for the latest updates.
