Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow-Inspired Halloween Costumes See Huge Spike In Sales

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s trial dominated headlines for the past couple of months as the entire world talked about it. The defamation case ended up harming Johnny Depp in a huge way, especially when it comes to his career.

Warner Bros fired Depp from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3 due to the domestic violence lawsuit. That wasn’t the only loss Johnny Depp suffered as he was booted from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Depp has previously said that he would never return to the franchise even if he was paid $300 million. Depp eventually won the defamation trial against Amber Heard as well.

According to TMZ, more Captain Jack Sparrow costumes than usual are being sold. The heads over at Halloweencostumes.com stated that they’re seeing a 90 percent sales spike in purchases related.

The retailer has a couple of Jack Sparrow costumes, a basic one for $85 to $95, and a higher quality one for $245 to $299. It was said that they have already cleared out over 85% of the inventory.

Johnny’s last ‘Pirates’ movie was back in 2017, but it was added that Jack Sparrow costumes are still more popular than those you’d consider more relevant, like “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Hocus Pocus 2” and ‘Lightyear.’
