Team Owner of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury Robert Sarver has been under investigation for racism and misogyny for several months. Now the NBA has made a decision on the controversy.

TSN confirms that Sarver will be suspended from activities involving both teams for one year and fined $10 million for ”workplace misconduct and organizational deficiencies” found during an NBA investigation into the allegations, the league announced Tuesday. An ESPN report on the allegations against Sarver claimed he created a “toxic” work environment within the Suns’ organization during his 17-year tenure as owner.

Sarver has denied the allegations. He went far too welcome the league’s investigation. Sarver purchased the Suns in 2004.

Wachtell Lipton law firm is leading the Sarver investigation. The law firm is located out of New York City and also conducted the league’s investigation into the Dallas Mavericks in 2018 and former Los Angeles Clippers team owner Donald Sterling in 2014, which resulted in Sterling being banned from the NBA, fined, and forced to sell the franchise.
