Leon Edwards FaceTimes His Mom After UFC 278 Win

Leon Edwards was the underdog heading into UFC 278, as he challenged Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight Championship. No one believed he had a chance against Usman either.

After becoming the first person to score a takedown on Usman in Round 1, Edwards struggled in the following rounds to get any kind of momentum. Fans assumed he was done for towards the end.

However, Edwards flicked out a right jab and fired up a left head kick that knocked Usman out cold at 4:04 of Round 5. Thus, he became the new Welterweight Champion.

Following his win, Leon Edwards Face-Timed his mother as he was clearly emotional and very happy.

Leon Edwards improved his overall record to 20-3 (1 NC) with the win over Usman. We will have to wait and see when Edwards will defend his title against Usman in the future.
