Rudy Giuliani has been in plenty of controversies during his professional and private life. Finding himself involved with his friend, former President Donald Trump’s ability to stay in power will come back to bite him.

Giuliani is now the target of a criminal election meddling investigation in Georgia, his lawyers were told on Monday, according to The New York Times.  Giuliani was at the front of the former president’s efforts to overturn the results nationwide.

Since February 2021, Fulton County has been investigating Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state. Altering the results in Georgia, which President Biden won narrowly, was a key part of this effort. Also, Giuliani appeared before legislative panels in the state in December 2020 by pushing tons of conspiracy theories about the election having been rigged.

For example, there was a conspiracy theory that Shaye Moss, an election worker in Fulton County, worked with her mother to give the state to Biden. Moss testified before the January 6th committee in June about the harassment she’s received since Giuliani and others tried to implicate her in a scheme to rig the election with lies.

“It has turned my life upside down.” she said. “I don’t want anyone knowing my name […] I just don’t do nothing anymore, I don’t want to go anywhere. I second guess everything that I do. It’s affected my life in a major way, in every way. All because of lies.”

Moss also debunked several of Giuliani’s accusations, especially that she and her mother exchanged a USB drive full of illegal votes for Biden. Moss set the record straight that she passed her mother a ginger mint.

Giuliani was subpoenaed along with other Trump allies in the investigation last month allegedly involved in the effort to overturn the results in Georgia. Trump loyalist, Senator Linsdey Graham of South Carolina, was ordered to testify on Monday. Giuliani moved to testify remotely, but was ordered by a judge last week to appear in person and expected to do so this week.
