Beyoncé announced today that she would change the lyrics to one of her songs off the new album Renaissance. The song, which is called “Heated,” features the word “spastic,” which is often used in a derogatory manner to refer to people with disabilities. While Beyoncé has every right to change the lyrics, one person who believes Queen B is making the wrong call is NBA star, Kevin Durant.

The NBA star posted his reaction on Instagram, commenting on a post from HipHopnMore. Durant clearly isn’t behind the decision.

This is a joke lol

Disability advocate Hannah Diviney also responded to the singer’s decision by acknowledging Beyoncé’s “commitment to storytelling” but ultimately believing that there “was no excuse” for including the slur in the first place. The singer also encountered backlash from Kelis, who accused her of using her song “Milkshake” without her permission.
