WWE held tryouts in Nashville for sports athletes wanting to join the promotion. The tryouts are part of the wrestling promotion’s new initiative to mold collegiate and professional athletes into potential global wrestling stars. One prominent name who participated in the tryouts was NBA star, Dwight Howard.

The Los Angeles Lakers star made an unexpected appearance in Nashville and even cut a WWE-style promo. The NBA star is actually serious about becoming a WWE superstar, and he already has a mean promo ability under his belt.

In the video, Dwight took the stage and performed as “Sho Nuff, the Shogun Master of the South.” He addressed anyone wanting to “take [his] belt” but warned that they would only win “Deez Nuts.” The 36-year-old basketball star is also rumored to join the Brooklyn Nets.

WWE reportedly signed over a dozen new talents during WrestleMania week. It looks to add more as the year progresses. Only time will tell if fans see Dwight Howard mixing it up with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
