Victoria Beckham married soccer player David Beckham on July 4th, 1999. They have four kids together: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. Given the level of negativity on social media, it appears that Victoria Beckham is not thrilled with the idea of her daughter Harper using it.

Beckham is concerned about her daughter using social media. When Harper is old enough to use social media, Victoria believes she will be subjected to body-shaming. The Spice Girl claimed that the 10-year-old is not currently on social media, but it is a day she fears.

Victoria is worried about “how cruel people can be.” She stated that her top priorities are to ensure Harper has “nice friends” and a good relationship with her family. The former Spice Girl revealed it in a recent interview with Vogue Australia.

“Harper isn’t on social media, so we don’t have to worry about [body shaming] just yet. But seeing how cruel people can be, yes it really does [concern me].”

“She’s at that age where her body is going to start changing, but it’s about making sure that we communicate a lot as a family and she surrounds herself with nice friends. But it is quite terrifying, I can’t lie.”

Her remarks follow a Girlguiding survey that indicated two in five girls aged 11 to 16 in the UK feel insecure or less confident after seeing certain photos online. Being a celebrity’s offspring can’t make things any easier.

Victoria also admitted that Harper is not a fan of the miniskirts she wore during her time in the Spice Girls. Harper said, “Absolutely not” when asked if she would ever wear skirts as short as her mother did. Beckham went on to further explain the situation.

“She’s not one of these kids who are going out with a full face of makeup and a crop top. She actually said to me recently, ‘Mummy, I’ve seen some pictures of you when you were in the Spice Girls and your skirts were just unacceptable. They were just too short.'”

“Then David piped up and said, ‘Absolutely Harper! They really, really were.’ And she was actually quite disgusted at how short my skirts were.”

Young children are often the victims of body-shaming on social media, especially if they come from a celebrity family. However, Victoria has a golden opportunity to teach her daughter about self-acceptance. Let’s see what happens in the future. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
