The Undertaker’s contributions to the pro wrestling world can never be forgotten. He is an integral part of pop culture and has managed to stay relevant for over three decades now. Israel Adesanya also commented on his tribute to The Undertaker recently.

As previously reported, Adesanya defended his middleweight title against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276. Before the fight, he paid tribute to The Undertaker by coming out to The Deadman’s entrance theme while wearing his iconic hat. He also had an urn in his hand, that had Cannonier’s name engraved on it.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, the UFC Middleweight Champion stated that his tribute to The Undertaker simply made sense to him.

“That came to me last Tuesday. During my workouts with my team, I normally have WWE ‘Attitude Era’ theme music playing. So this made sense for me. The whole UFC production helped bring my vision to life.”

The Undertaker really loved Israel Adesanya’s tribute to him as well. Adesanya also previously made it clear that he wants his next fight to be against Alex Pereira, so we’ll have to see whether that will happen or not.
