Dakota Johnson rose to mainstream stardom after landing the role of Anastasia in the film adaptation of the steamy novel, ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey.’ Jamie Dornan served as her on-screen love interest in the movies, which wrapped up with ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ in 2018. There were plenty of rumors that Jamie and Dakota had some major disagreements on set.

Despite those rumors, the films became a major hit. The total worldwide box office gross for the three ‘Fifty Shades’ flicks was $1.325 billion against a budget of only $150 million. Even if Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan hated each other, their work was a massive success.

Johnson was the subject of this month’s Vanity Fair cover story. There, she talked about her experiences on the ‘Fifty Shades’ set. Dakota denied that there were any issues between her and Jamie Dornan.

“There was never a time when we didn’t get along. I know it’s weird, but he’s like a brother to me. I love him so, so, so much. And we were really there for each other. We had to really trust each other and protect each other.”

Filming sexually-driven scenes with someone she considered a brother was awkward for Dakota Johnson. However, there was no bad blood at any point during filming. It was just a little bit weird.

Dakota Johnson said she has no regrets about being a part of the ‘Fifty Shades’ trilogy. She said if she knew what she was getting into to begin with, she may have passed. Instead, she took on a very challenging role and it made her a huge star.
