Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino is best known for his role on the reality television show Jersey Shore. In 2019, Sorrentino served time in prison for tax evasion. Now, the reality television star is facing a substantial financial hit.

According to documents obtained by The Sun, Sorrentino was hit with a tax lien in April. He reportedly now owes the IRS $2.3 million in taxes stemming from debts he owed between 2010 and 2016.

As of January 2020, Sorrentino has paid off more than $300,000 in restitution. According to a member of Sorrentino’s team, the reality television star is “working diligently” to pay back all of his debt. Sorrentino has yet to make a statement regarding the situation. Sorrentino was hit with federal tax charges in 2014.

Sorrentino and his brother pleaded guilty to filing falsified tax returns on nearly $9 million in 2018. Sorrentino was hit with an eight-month prison sentence in October of that year. He recently became an advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous.
