The O.J. Simpson trial is undoubtedly one of the most talked about court trials in American history. Simpson was ordered in 1997 to pay $33.5 million to the Goldman family after he was found liable for the murder of Ron Goldman. While certainly none of the wounds felt during the trial will heal, a recent development might have added another wrinkle to this already legendary situation.

According to TMZ Sports, Fred Goldman is asking for roughly $96 million from Simpson. Simpson owed $57 million in 2015, but Fred stated that with the addition of interest, the lump sum has ballooned to $96 million.

Simpson has reportedly made only a handful of small payments over the years. Fred has argued that following his release from prison, Simpson should continue making payments. The interest has reportedly been piling up for the last seven years. Goldman has laid everything out in new court documents.

Simpson was tried and committed for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. There has been a multitude of shows which covered the entire trial and its impact on the world of sports and media. Only time will tell whether another wrinkle will be added to the situation.
