Barack Obama & Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground enjoyed success on the popular streaming platform, Spotify. After parting ways with the Stockholm-based audio streaming platform, they have now found a new place for their podcast.

According to Deadline, the Obamas’ production company has struck an exclusive, multiyear first-look deal with Audible. The move comes right after their exit from Spotify, where they signed a deal back in 2019.

Higher Ground has created several notable audio series, including Renegades: Born in the USA with Bruce Springsteen. Now with Amazon backing the production company, their content is expected to reach broader audiences compared to Spotify.

In the wake of the deal worth millions of dollars, the former US President Obama had few words to share with the fans. Michelle Obama is also excited about the new chapter Higher Ground with Audible.

“At Higher Ground, we have always sought to lift up voices that deserve to be heard — and Audible is invested in realizing that vision alongside us. I’m looking forward to partnering with them to tell stories that not only entertain but also inspire,” said President Obama.

“We are so proud of the stories we have been able to tell at Higher Ground, and there’s no one we’d rather write our next chapter with than Audible. Together, we will keep striving to tell compelling, provocative, and soulful stories—while doing everything we can to make sure they reach the folks who need to hear them,” added Michelle Obama.

With such a high-profile addition to Audible’s catalog, the Amazon owned company is sure to carve a strong place for itself in the audio streaming space. The new offerings resulting from this deal is yet another thing fans should look forward to.
