Elon Musk has been making news for a variety of reasons. However. it’s his daughter who’s making the headlines now as she has filed legal documents to remove her renowned last name. In fact, she’s modifying her complete name and officially proclaiming her gender identity.
According to TMZ, the filings were submitted in Los Angeles County by Xavier Musk, the name she was assigned at birth. Now that she’s 18, Musk’s kid wants to be known as Vivian Jenna Wilson.
Musk’s daughter claims in the documents that she wants to be recognized as a woman, but the name change isn’t only about her transition. There’s definitely a rift between her and her father.
“Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”
Elon and Vivian have never spoken publicly about their relationship or Vivian’s transition. Musk tweeted in December 2020 that he respects the transgender community, but added, “All these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.”
Griffin is Vivian’s twin brother, and the Wilson surname originates from their mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson, who was married to Elon from 2000 to 2008. Vivian’s name change hearing is scheduled for Friday. Stay tuned to Thirsty for further updates.
