John Cena is ready to make his way back to where it all began. The Peacemaker star has become a major Hollywood leading man since his most recent break from WWE. Now, The Champ is going back to his roots in professional wrestling.

During the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that John Cena would be returning to television on June 27th in Laredo, Texas. Cena has been building a feud with Vince McMahon’s chosen superstar, Theory, through the media over the past several months. The upcoming return is likely to build toward a match between the two.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer talked about the plan for John Cena’s return to WWE. The plan is for Cena to appear on television to help sell the anticipated match with Theory at the SummerSlam premium live event. The idea is to use John to help elevate Theory to the next level.

“Cena returns on the 6/27 Raw show in Laredo, TX. While this has not been confirmed to us by the company, the talk in wrestling is that it will be Cena vs. Theory at SummerSlam with the idea that working with Cena will bring Theory up to a higher level.”

John Cena recently signed with a major talent agency to further his acting career. That doesn’t mean he is done competing. Cena loves professional wrestling and has never hinted that he wouldn’t be back someday.

That day is finally drawing near. For Theory, wrestling John Cena would be the culmination of a childhood dream. Cena is just happy to pay it forward in an industry that helped make him a superstar.
