J. Cole has risen to fame in the music industry because of his commitment to his skills and affection for his fans. His efforts brought him a great deal of success in a few years. Recently, J. Cole’s Dreamville festival brought in $6.7 million for Wake County, North Carolina.

Visit Raleigh released an estimate of the area’s economic impact on May 31st. J. Cole’s two-day concert at Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park drew over 80,000 people in April. Wake County, North Carolina received around $6.7 million from the 2022 Dreamville Festival.

“The increase in economic impact and attendance over this year’s two-day festival is gratifying to see after the pandemic hindered the previously sold-out event from taking place the last couple of years. The successful turnout for Dreamville Festival reiterates that events and travel are back in our area and the demand is still prevalent.”

Wake County had a 92% occupancy rate on the first night of the Dreamville Festival, according to Visit Raleigh. The $6.7 million estimates were likewise deemed as “conservative” by the bureau. The festival’s president, Adam Roy, expressed gratitude for the fans’ support this year.

“My team and I continue to be awed by the overwhelming support we’ve received since closing out the second Dreamville Festival this April. But to now fully realize the festival’s positive impact on the local economy and tourism, it truly is unbelievable.”

“We are grateful for our fans who traveled across the U.S. and internationally to attend the fest, as well as for those from the City of Raleigh and Wake County who helped bring this event together. Our Dreamville team looks forward to furthering its investments in the community for years to come, especially as we plan for the festival’s return in spring 2023.”

J. Cole, Lil Wayne, and Ashanti, among others, performed at the 2022 Dreamville Festival. The Dreamville Foundation and the Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy will each receive a percentage of the proceeds from the event. Did you enjoyed the event? For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
