WWE fans were shaken to the core when a real-life situation crept its way backstage. Sasha Banks and Naomi, the company’s Women’s Tag Team Champions, walked out instead of carrying on with the planned direction for their characters.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that although WWE stripped Naomi and Sasha Banks of their titles, some didn’t want it to go down like that. The decision was eventually handed down to take their titles, but that doesn’t mean that a tournament to crown new champions is priority.

WWE cancelled all travel plans for Banks and Naomi just around the time when their suspensions were announced. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles were vacated, although Sapp reported that, “several in WWE didn’t want to vacate the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, but it became clear pretty quickly that was the route that needed to be taken.”

The Boss and The Glow haven’t had much, if any, communication with the company. Ringside News exclusively reported that their names aren’t coming up in the writers’ room at all, but no official mandate was handed down.

Banks and Naomi are currently suspended and there doesn’t seem to be an end to that in sight. It is also not believed that WWE froze their contracts at this time if they’re not being paid.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
