Megan Thee Stallion worked hard to make herself one of the most popular hip-hop artists in the world right now. She has all the momentum going for her, and that has been the case since the Grammy Awards last year. After collaborating on the song “Sweetest Pie,” Megan Thee Stallion opened up about her close friendship with famous pop artist Dua Lipa.

Megan Thee Stallion and her “Sweetest Pie” colleague Dua Lipa have a “unspoken bond.” Megan revealed that she wasn’t sure she’d get along with the vocalist of “New Rules” when they collaborated on the song, which was released in March. According to Yahoo! Life, Thee Stallion said that Lipa felt like a familiar spirit.

When somebody is so gorgeous and established, you don’t know what to expect. A lot of ladies can be divas. But Dua is just so nice. She felt like a familiar spirit. We have an unspoken bond, it’s not even anything we need to discuss. Sometimes people get the wrong idea about me, too. But once you meet me, you’re like, ‘Oh! This is my homegirl.’

“Somebody asked me about Dua Lipa, I love Dua Lipa, she’s so fire. I really do want to do a song with Dua Lipa,” Megan thee Stallion stated in a video in June 2021, expressing her enthusiasm in collaborating with her. “I love you @TheeStallion LET’S GET IT!!!!” the “Levitating” singer posted on her Instagram Stories in response to the message.

They teased the track in February before announcing the collaboration in March. Clarence Coffee Jr., Dua’s friend and co-songwriter, stated in a Vogue interview that the star came up with her piece of the song in under an hour. Check out the video below.
