President Joe Biden has been facing a mountain of problems. The administration took office with a horrifically mismanaged pandemic to take care of as well as an economy crushed by the weight of the virus. Since then, things have only been adding up.

FiveThirtyEight reported that Joe Biden’s approval rating has fallen to just 40.7%. Nearly 54% of Americans said they disapprove of Biden’s job performance. That makes for a net disapproval rating of -13.2 points. It is the President’s lowest such rating since February.

The ratings are derived from an analysis of data from several national polls. Those polls are weighted based on internal ratings of their performance over time. That means this is one of the more accurate snapshots of the public’s thoughts on the Biden administration.

As Russia’s war in Ukraine rages on, inflation is running rampant at home. North Korea has continued its nuclear saber-rattling, even as the country faces a monumental COVID-19 outbreak. There have also been issues in the Middle East.

Joe Biden also faces several problems on the homefront. The well-documented national baby formula shortage forced Biden to institute the Defense Production Act to try and ease shortages. That takes time, and people are not patient.

All of it could be a sign of bad things to come for Democrats in the mid-term elections. With control of Congress on the line, Biden serves as a reflection of his party. Americans are not thrilled with his performance to this point.
