Pro wrestlers can branch out into other avenues of entertainment. That happened once again for the former Bulgarian Brute. CBS recently released its trailer for “East New York” and it features AEW star Miro in it. Looks like he has made his way into Hollywood!
Miro plays the role of Nikolai Dushkin in this series. Other actors, Amanda Warren, Jimmy Smits, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Kevin Rankin, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Lavel Schley, and Olivia Luccardi are also among the star members of the new CBS series.
The official synopsis of the show has also been released and it reads, “Regina Haywood is the newly promoted deputy inspector of East New York, a working-class neighborhood at the edge of Brooklyn. She leads a diverse group of officers and detectives, some of whom are reluctant to deploy her creative methods of serving and protecting in the midst of social upheaval and the early seeds of gentrification.”
Miro signed with AEW back in 2020. Since then he has won the TNT Title before losing it to Sammy Guevara in September 2021. Miro has not been in the wrestling game since he lost to Bryan Danielson in an AEW Title Eliminator tournament match at Full Gear last November.
Miro suffered a hamstring injury but now he has been medically cleared. Also, earlier this year, in March, Miro signed a four-year contract extension which is supposed to keep him in the company at least till the beginning of 2026. Watch the trailer for the East New York series below!
