Ed Sheeran has always been known for being a kind-hearted human. He has proved time and time again his goodwill nature towards others. This time the British singer selflessly paid all the medical bills of The Wanted’s Tom Parker.

Tom Parker left us this March after suffering for a long time with his incurable brain tumor. He was diagnosed with glioblastoma in October 2020. The tumor was inoperable but he kept fighting since the diagnosis with the help of medicines and medical procedures.

At the height of his cancer battle, Parker’s closest friends rallied around him. Sheeran was one of his closest friends of Tom, who always was in the vicinity for help. Ed went above and beyond and paid the entire medical fees for the late Tom Parker.

Parker also had a special place for the Shape Of You artist in his heart. He called Ed a “special man” He said his kind gesture “meant the world” to him and his wife, Kelsey Parker, reported The Sun. He has spoken a lot about Sheeran in his forthcoming memoir, titled “Hope: My Inspirational Life.”

“I’ve never publicly said this before (and he’ll probably be mad that I’m doing it now) but Ed is a very special man — he even helped out with my medical bills when I was seeking other treatment options and having private immunotherapy”

The pair struck up a friendship when Sheeran joined The Wanted on tour over a decade ago. The singer joined The Wanted in 2009, and the band went on to release hits including “Glad You Came,” “All Time Low,” and “I Found You.” The band went on hiatus in 2014 but reunited in 2021 for a greatest hits album and a fundraiser concert in London in support of Parker.

Ed has shown every bit of what it means to be a great friend. Staying beside one of his closest friends in the toughest of times has made the family of the bereaved more strong. Even though Tom is no more, this good deed of Ed will live beyond the years as an example.
