This year’s Met Gala went down at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The star-studded event will be attended by fashion icons and big wig celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Billie Eilish to name a few.

Speaking of Kim, the fashion mogul is wearing a skintight gown to the annual fundraising gala. The dress has quite a rich history and Kim is speaking about its origins on her Instagram.

Met Gala — In America: An Anthology of Fashion

I am so honored to be wearing the iconic dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962 to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy. It is a stunning skintight gown adorned with more than 6,000 hand-sewn crystals by costumier Jean Louis.

Thank you Ripley’s Believe It or Not! for giving me the opportunity to debut this evocative piece of fashion history for the first time since the late Marilyn Monroe wore it. I am forever grateful for this moment.

For last year’s Met Gala, Kim wore a very bizarre Kanye West-inspired outfit that quickly turned into a meme. It’s great that Kim has decided to show her face for this year’s event. Take a look at the photos below.
