Laine Hardy became a star after winning season 17 of American Idol. Hardy has released several singles and EPs and headlined a US tour in 2019. His debut album, “Here’s To Anyone” came out last fall. Hardy appeared to be set for a very successful career.

Hardy is now facing a major roadblock towards that success. Laine is under active investigation by the Louisiana State University Police Department, according to TMZ. The circumstances of the investigation are unknown.

Laine announced on Twitter that there has been a warrant issued for his arrest. Hardy says he is fully cooperating with the investigation. He declined to give further details due to the “sensitive nature” of the mystery allegation.

“Earlier today, I received a warrant due to allegations made against me and have been fully cooperative with the Louisiana State University Police Department. I understand that my career has thrust me into the public spotlight, and I embrace that wholeheartedly as my entire world belongs to my music and my fans. However, due to the sensitive nature of this allegation, I humbly ask for privacy at this time. I have the utmost respect for the law and will assist in their investigation as needed moving forward.”

Laine Hardy will have to turn himself into the authorities. It is not known when he plans to do so. LSU police have also not released any additional details about the allegation.

Stardom often comes with a steep price. Laine Hardy placed himself into the public eye the moment he took the stage on American Idol. The reason for the warrant is unknown, but Laine seems to believe it stems from the spotlight that has been on him since 2019.
