Elon Musk is taking a brief reprieve from his campaign to troll Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Musk had accused Gates of shorting shares of Tesla stock to destroy the company. To Elon, that means that Gates isn’t the climate change champion he claims to be.

Bill Gates has denied that he holds a short interest in Tesla. That didn’t stop Elon Musk from body-shaming him on Twitter. Musk then dared the social media giant to ban him.

Musk followed up the trolling with even more trolling. Elon tweeted that he was moving on from Bill Gates. In his next post, he once again claimed that Gates is shorting Tesla stock.

The irony of Elon Musk accusing someone of manipulating the stock market is not lost on those who are keeping an eye on the situation. Musk has been under investigation for using Twitter to pump up Tesla’s stock, as well as several cryptocurrency pump-and-dump schemes including the ostensibly worthless prank crypto Dogecoin. It was shortly after those reports that he was suddenly interested in buying Twitter.

Elon Musk will always find a way to fire up his cult following. The real plan exists only in Elon’s mind. Taken at face value, he’s just having some fun. In reality, Musk is building a vast network of support so that public sentiment favors any whim he may have.
