Ben Simmons has received a lot of criticism this year. Of course, this is due to the fact that he has yet to play a single game this season, prompting fans to label him “soft.”

Previously it was revealed that Simmons would make his debut for the Brooklyn Nets in Game 4 against the Celtics on Monday. Simmons, however, appears to be going back on his word. As ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports, Simmons will miss Game 4. He woke up with back soreness, and he no longer believes he will be able to play.

Given the Nets’ current situation, many fans believe this is the softest move in NBA history. Simmons has a reputation for being soft, and this newest move does nothing to help his case. In fact, the whole NBA Twittersphere is currently on Simmons’ case.

The Nets are behind 0-3 in the series and need all the help they can get. If the Nets get wiped, Simmons will have a difficult few months ahead of him, as he is already in a fragile state.

Fans are furious with his lack of effort right now, and it appears that the criticism will only grow as the offseason goes on. Some of the slander being directed at Simmons can be seen in the tweets below.
