Fat Joe has a loyal following around the world and he loves speaking to them. The rapper has seen resounding critical and commercial success. Most recently, Joe starred in a PSA to bring awareness regarding the CMS rule.

The campaign launched by Power to the Patients, an advocacy group working to make sure that patients and their families understand the real financial obligations of their medical decisions, included Joe’s star appeal. During the short video, he really made his position on the matter heard.

During the PSA, Joe absolutely tore into America’s healthcare system and calls out hospitals for not disclosing their prices to patients and their families. He also ripped on politicians for not having any regard whatsoever for public welfare.

“When we can’t see or compare prices, hospitals charge us whatever they want. They’re robbing us. It’s not even legal, but nobody’s enforcing that law. We love our nurses. We need our doctors. But the big business behind them is breaking our backs. So to all you politicians letting them crush us: You’re breaking my heart.”

According to TMZ, Joe will be attending the White House Correspondents’ dinner later this month to represent the advocacy group in order to get some DC powerbrokers onboard with the effort. We can only hope that he is able to help start a change, because one is very much needed.
