Katy Perry is one of the industry’s highest-paid entertainers, and she has continuously been glorifying her position for years. Katy Perry has provided us with timeless hits over the years. It seems Katy teared up in a recent episode of American Idol.

On Sunday’s episode of American Idol on ABC, Katy Perry wept over Fritz Hager’s performance as the field was reduced down to the Top 20. As the 22-year-old singer from Tyler, Texas delivered a heartwarming performance of the Billie Eilish ballad When The Party’s Over, the 37-year-old pop sensation and her colleagues judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan wiped away tears.

After Fritz touched them with his falsetto voice, all three judges gave him a standing ovation. Katy’s voice trembled as she thought about his performance. Fritz recently resigned from his work as a security guard in Tyler to pursue his music career, with his parents’ approval.

‘Incredible,’ remarked Luke.

‘Now, Fritz, we’ve known each other a long time, right? And I know when I first met you, the last thing I ever thought about was crying. I am crying on Fritz! That was a stellar performance from you. It was one of the most touching performances I’ve ever seen from you. Continue that. Vote, America. Vote,’ Lionel added.

‘This show is not just a competition. This is an opportunity for people to be like reborn, and I see that in you, and I don’t think you’ll ever be misunderstood again. I think you see yourself, we see you, and the world sees you now, Fritz,’ Katy expressed.

Fritz was also pleased to see his idol Phillip Phillips sing his new song Love Like That, which he wrote after winning season 11 of American Idol. Right after Phillip’s performance, show host Ryan Seacrest revealed that Fritz had made the top 20. Three singers were eliminated in the season 20 episode when the Top 20 were revealed.

Scarlett Ayliz and Danielle Finn were eliminated from the first round of the Top 20, which was split into two groups. Following the shocking departure of show frontrunner Kenedi Anderson last week, Sir Blayke was the only one from the second group to be removed. The voting began after the Top 20 singers performed during the three-hour broadcast, and the results will be revealed today, when the field is narrowed down to the last 14 performers.
