Joe Biden has been the president of The United States since January of last year. Kamala Harris has been by his side as the Vice President as well. She also earned a lot more money than Biden last year.

According to Complex, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris released their 2021 tax returns. Some were a bit shocked about what they saw when the numbers were laid out for them.

It was revealed that The President and first lady Jill Biden earned $610,702 during their first year in the White House. They paid $150,439 in federal income taxes for an effective tax rate of 24.6 percent.

It was also said that they reported contributions of $17,394 to 10 different charities, including to the Beau Biden Foundation. On the other hand, Kamala Harris and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, earned a reported federal adjusted gross income of $1,655,563 in 2021.

The Harris Family paid $523,371 in federal income taxes for an effective tax rate of 31.6 percent. Almost $772,000 of Harris and Emhoff’s reported income came from the sale of a San Francisco condominium, as well as compensation Kamala earned as a writer. They also donated $22,100 to charity last year.

“With this release, the president has shared a total of 24 years of tax returns with the American public, once again demonstrating his commitment to being transparent with the American people about the finances of the commander in chief,” Biden said in a statement.

Every president since Richard Nixon has released their tax returns to the public, except Donald Trump. The latest former POTUS claimed that he was unable to release his tax filings because they were under audit. We are still waiting to see any concrete evidence of his tax returns or his wealth.
