LeBron James is also touted as one of the all-time greats in the world of professional basketball. James has broken numerous records during his career and is always compared with Jordan as far as being the GOAT of basketball is concerned. He also received an apology from a basketball legend recently.
Last Sunday, basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the one to award Carmelo Anthony with the Social Justice Champion award. Jabbar also made some interesting comments about LeBron James.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar stated that LeBron James has been making comments that are beneath him. He added that it was difficult to know where LeBron stands and that when it comes to COVID and China, he has been inadequate.
He got heavily criticised for his words as well. While speaking on Sirius XM NBA Radio, Kareem made a whole-hearted apology to LeBron James for his recent comments.
“All I have to say is this: I was there to give Carmelo Anthony the Social Justice Champion Award. I’ve been talking to the press since high school. That’s 60 years of making statements. And I haven’t always gotten it right. And Sunday was one of those nights.
It wasn’t my intention to criticize LeBron in any way. He’s done so much for the Black community as well as for the game of basketball. We may not always agree, but I want to whole-heartedly apologize to LeBron and make it clear to him that I have tremendous respect for him. If he can accept that, I’ll be very happy.”
LeBron James has yet to comment on the situation, but is likely to do soon as soon as possible. Still, it is good that Kareem realized the error of his ways.
