Eli Cramer was a track star for Milligan University. The 20-year-old was enjoying his education and the competition of collegiate sports, about to enter the prime of his life. Sadly, that life was cut short by a tragic yet ironic accident yesterday.

Virginia State Police confirmed to TMZ Sports that the track star and five members of his school cross country team were out for a run when the incident occurred. It was around 6:00 PM when three of the athletes were struck by a Scion.

The driver has been identified as Jose Efrain Hernandez Mancia. Mancia is alleged to have attempted to flee the scene. Instead, he crashed into a median on Route 199.

The Milligan runners were transported to Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. Two of them suffered only minor injuries. Unfortunately, Eli Cramer passed away due to the injuries he suffered.
