Ariana Grande is one of the hottest pop acts in the industry. The music sensation has amassed a massive fanbase across the globe. Recently, she did voiced her support for trans rights on International Transgender Day of Visibility.

The Into You singer pledged a total of $1.5 million to support organizations that help trans youth. Ariana made posted the announcement to Instagram on Thursday. She announced the Protect & Defend Trans Youth Fund, which she started with the fundraising platform Pledge.

The songstress also slammed recent legislature targeting trans rights. She said in her social media post, ‘Right now there are hundreds of disgraceful bills pending in state legislature that target trans youth and aim to curb their rights.’ She urged her audience to join her in donating to the fund she created.

‘Please join me in donating to this fund i’ve created with @pledge.to to support organizations providing direct services and advocating for the rights of trans youth!’

Ariana also stated, ‘This will provide critical funds to organizations advocating for the rights of trans youth.’ She revealed that she will match up to 1.5M in donations. Additionally, as of Thursday evening, the fund has raised $419,516.  

The artist revealed that the money will be evenly divided among 18 groups including the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition, Equality Florida, Gendernexus, House Of Tulip, and Jasmyn. Her announcement comes after Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis signed a controversial new bill, which opponents have dubbed the ‘Don’t Say Gay Bill’ into law on Monday.
